Tuscany is steeped in history which persists to this day. There are countless markets and local festivals that have their beginnings many centuries before; we have attached a selection of the more famous, or our favourite ones, for you to think about. For a full Events List click here ‘Tuscan Events Diary’ or see below for a general guide to the seasons.
Spring – March Through to May
One of the most beautiful times to visit Tuscany. Lush new grasses and flowers abound. Come before Easter and you will find local towns and the famous museums easy to access.
The weather improves rapidly through March with warmer days meaning that we are usually ready to open our pools by late April to Early May. For outdoor enthusiasts this is the perfect time to be golfing, riding, cycling or walking in the stunning Tuscan Countryside. Long weekends, short breaks and weekend parties can be arranged during this season.
Summer - June Through to September
Expect long gloriously sunny days and warm evenings during this popular holiday period.
Medieval festivals, open air opera and music festivals and the world famous Palio are the key cultural themes during this period for those who can bear to be parted from our stunning pools.
Autumn - October Through to December
Typically warm, hazy Autumn days and beautiful morning mists make this a stunning time to visit Tuscany.
For food and wine lovers there are many porcini, truffle, wine and olive oil fairs during this key culinary season for the region. Cooking courses in the villas or truffle and porcini hunting can be arranged. In December you will find many Christmas fairs. For outdoor enthusiasts this is again a perfect time to be golfing, riding, cycling or walking. Enjoy the countryside or some sight-seeing and return home to a roaring fire or a pampering in the spa. Long weekends, short breaks and weekend parties can be arranged during this season.
Winter - January Through to February
Winter in Tuscany can be glorious with some sharp frosts and a fair bit of snow interspersed with some brilliantly sunny days. Local pre-lent carnivals every weekend in February introduce a Mardi-Gras feeling to the season. This apart the villas and region at this time tend to be very peaceful. We had a perfect Winter break with friends; a few days golf, coming back toa roaring fire, some relaxation in the spa then a wonderful meal cooked for us in the villa. We then took off to the Apennines for two days to enjoy the fabulous snow just a couple of hours drive away. Long weekends, short breaks and weekend parties can be arranged during this season.
