San Martino: The main farmhouse
San Martino, our 16th century farmhouse, offers simple styling, historic features and modern comforts. The perfect setting for your holiday. Lovingly restored, in keeping with the original features of the property, the house has also been upgraded to the highest level.
Outside soak up the sun on one of the many comfortable teak loungers or chairs, cool off in the crystal clear infinity pool, quench your thirst with a drink in the poolside bar offering stunning panoramic views or enjoy al fresco dining under one of the shady pergolas.
Inside the house features antique furnishings, blissful bathrooms, kitchens for feasting with friends or cosy family dinners. Chill out in the soothing spa with essential oils, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi or stretch out on the oversized couches in front of a roaring fire. Sip a glass of Chianti while listening to your favourite music or taking in a film on our home cinema system.
The accommodation includes five generous double rooms all with views, luxurious en-suites and air-conditioning. Each has its own unique special features, a double whirlpool bath, a light shower, a private balcony room or an historic fireplace.
Downstairs - a traditional family pizza room, with wood burning pizza oven and indoor barbeque, overlooks the pool. The rustic kitchen features a large range oven, stone sink and antique dresser. The perfect espresso machine, large fridges and a dishwasher lie hidden behind oak doors. The dining room, previously the old stables, can accommodate a family dinner or a sixty strong party. In the lounge, a former lofty barn, it’s all about the view, a panorama of Chiantishire opening out over an attractive terrace.
The facilities now include a spa with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, under-floor heating throughout, air conditioning in all the bedrooms, remote-controlled sound, TV & DVD, and internet facilities. These make San Martino not only a lovely summer holiday location but also a party, wedding or conference facility for all seasons. In total, the farmhouse can sleep 10-12 people with a further 10-12 being accommodated in La Quercia and Il Pino.
